Love, served: How catering brings people together
Love is at the heart of every gathering, whether it’s romantic or not. From weddings and nonprofit events to corporate celebrations and intimate get-togethers, catering plays a quiet but meaningful role in how people connect.
We’ve always gathered around food. To welcome one another. To celebrate. To take care. Sharing a meal has long been a way of saying you belong here. That’s why food still sits at the center of our most important moments, and why it’s often what we remember most.
This Valentine’s season, we’re reflecting on what it means to serve love in our favorite way: from the table. Here’s how that shows up, across the moments and gatherings we’re lucky to be part of.
Love, celebrated: Weddings
Wedding stories tend to revolve around food. Long after the flowers are pressed and the music fades, people remember the cake, the dance floor cookies, and the flavors they shared with the people they love. Food is where that celebration of love becomes a memory.
For one of our Austin wedding catering couples, that connection to food existed long before the wedding day. Their relationship was built around shared meals, with first dates that turned into picnics, conversations sparked over bread and cheese, and trips planned around where and how they’d eat together. When it came time to plan their wedding, food wasn’t just something to choose. It was already part of the story.
That care carried into the planning itself. With a toddler in tow, tastings became family moments rather than formal appointments. The process made room for real life, setting the tone for a celebration that felt welcoming from the very beginning.
“Wedding planning is tough—especially with a toddler. Vestals was one of the easiest parts. They welcomed our daughter at tastings, checked in on our family, and made everything feel simple. And the food was unforgettable. Our wedding wouldn’t have been the same without them.” -Diana
It’s the kind of love that’s felt at the table.

Love, in service: Nonprofit events
Love also shows up in service, when people gather not just to celebrate, but to give back. It’s why we love nonprofit catering so much.
One of our favorite recent nonprofit events was the SPCA of Texas Fur Ball, an annual gala to raise funds for animals across the state. More than 500 animal lovers attended the 2025 event, which was at Dallas’s Frontiers of Flight Museum. Over conversations, paddle raising, and food like our Red Wine Braised Short Rib and Triple Chocolate Layer Cake, the event raised more than $490,000!
Events like the Fur Ball remind us that food can do more than you think. It can help move missions forward, strengthen communities, and create moments people are proud to be part of. That’s love right there.

Love, shared: Corporate events
Love can show up at work, too, just in different ways. It’s all about intention, appreciation, and the care taken to bring people together.
For one of our recent corporate events (hosted at The Alamo!), the focus was on making the team feel valued and well-fed. The menu included food that encouraged people to mingle and enjoy each other’s company — and featured flavors that were extra memorable and delicious. Think: Handmade Chicken Flautas & Brisket Empanadas to Mexican Chocolate Brownie Bites and Sopapilla Cheesecake Bites.
Basically, corporate catering (when it’s done really, really well) is a huge opportunity to show teams they’re loved. And, at Vestals Catering, that’s one of our favorite things.
Love, made easy: Vestals Fresh & Room 1403
Of course, love doesn’t always look like a ballroom or a formal event. Sometimes it looks like dessert on the counter, a box of cookies dropped off just because, or a Galentine’s Day spread shared among friends.
Vestals Fresh brings the same care to smaller gatherings and everyday moments. This Valentine’s season, that includes festive sprinkle cookies alongside crowd-favorite offerings like charcuterie boards and party-ready desserts.
They’re perfect for Galentine’s nights, office celebrations, family get-togethers, and moments that don’t need an excuse, just a reason to gather.

Love, served
Love shows up in many forms: Romantic and communal. Planned and spontaneous. Grand and simple.
What connects them all is the table.
This Valentine’s season, we’re celebrating the many ways food helps people show love, and the role catering plays in making the best moments feel intentional and shared. We’re grateful to be part of the gatherings that matter, and we look forward to serving many more.
