Elevating Wedding Planning in Texas, Vestals Catering Style

wedding planning catering inspo texas

Congratulations on your engagement!

This is such a magical time, filled with excitement, love, and endless opportunities to celebrate with those closest to you. Wedding planning in Texas is all about creating unforgettable experiences — from engagement parties and bridal luncheons to showers, bachelorettes, and beyond.

Plus, it’s a chance to throw a party (or two)…

…which we all love.

At Vestals Catering, we believe that every event leading up to your wedding day deserves its own moment to shine. These milestone moments not only honor your love but also create lifelong memories.

So, whether you’re in Dallas, Austin, Fort Worth, or anywhere in between, we’re here to help you elevate each event into something truly special. Here’s how you can make every celebration leading up to your wedding an absolutely unforgettable experience.

Wedding Planning in Texas: Events to Celebrate

When you’re planning a wedding, there’s a lot to keep up with — from venue decisions, vendor choices, seating charts, and more. But the journey leading up to your wedding is filled with opportunities to celebrate in style. Prioritizing these events ensures you can make the most of every moment… with the people you love most.

From engagement parties to bridal luncheons to rehearsal dinners, each event is a chance to personalize, celebrate, and make the journey to your wedding just as memorable as the big day itself.

Wedding planning events, Vestals Catering style

Whether you’re planning your wedding in Dallas, Austin, Fort Worth, or elsewhere in Texas, these events are key milestones in your journey. Here’s how to make them memorable:

Engagement Parties

These are the official kick-off to the wedding planning journey and an absolute must. There are endless opportunities for customization here — whether you prefer a more intimate gathering or a big event — and taking it to the next level is the absolute best way to jumpstart your season.

Engagement party catering inspo:

  • A signature cocktail station: Create a custom cocktail with you and your partner’s favorite ingredients, and add an extra touch with a garnish bar.
  • Elevated wedding favors: Send your friends home with custom wedding date cookies, wine bottles with custom labels, or even a little jar of herbs, spices, or olive oils that reflect the evening’s cuisine.
  • Personalized food stations: Whether it’s a themed grazing table or a live-action sushi rolling station that reflects your favorite date night food, have fun with it!

Showers (bridal showers or couples showers)

These are a classic part of the wedding planning journey, and they’re a great opportunity to host your loved ones AND to get some gifts. Show everyone how thankful you are for their support by making your shower delicious and unique — and watch how excited your guests get!

Wedding shower catering inspo:

  • Make your table settings thoughtful: Go the extra mile with your table settings — think: seasonal napkin holders with sprigs of rosemary in the winter or fresh lavender in the spring — and include mini flower bouquets, delicate little candles, and place cards at each seat.
  • Add some wow factor: Wedding events can often all feel the same, but they don’t have to! Hire a chef to prepare fun desserts, like mini crepes or flambéed fruit, for an “oh my gosh!” reaction that people (you included) will remember.
  • Have fun with your displays: Shake up the typical shower serving station by including displays that are as beautiful as they are delicious! Everyone always loves a brunch grazing board — and you can also have fun with a donut wall, artisan latte station, or an avocado toast bar. The options are endless.

Bachelor & Bachelorette Parties

Everyone loves a good party, and we’re big fans of elevating bachelor and bachelorette parties to be a unique experience for everyone involved. While there’s always a place for some typical bachelor/bachelorette fun, you can make your pre-wedding celebration one-of-a-kind with some showstopping additions.

Bachelor & bachelorette party catering inspo:

  • Elevate late-night snacks: Skip the post-midnight pizza and bring in a gourmet touch with a popcorn bar (truffle parmesan, cheddar caramel, or dark chocolate sea salt) or mini milkshake shots served with cookies.
  • Hire an in-house bartender: Want to have THE best party ever? Bring in a bartender for the night (or the whole weekend) to serve up signature cocktails, champagne, and mixers.
  • Make it gourmet: If a hike, drive, or beach day is on the itinerary, pack a gourmet picnic with charcuterie boards, fresh fruit, and sandwiches. For a nighttime bonfire, elevate s’mores with artisanal marshmallows, gourmet chocolate, and flavored graham crackers.

Bridal Luncheons

Bridal luncheons are a favorite tradition here at Vestals —  and if you’re not planning one yet, trust us… you need to! These are usually held the day before your wedding (but they don’t have to be) and are an incredible opportunity to gather with close friends and family in an intimate, joyful setting.

Bridal luncheon catering inspo:

  • Craft a welcome drink: Welcome your loved ones in with a cocktail or mocktail that sets the tone and gets them excited! Think sweet tea spritzers, clementine-lime champagne cocktails, or a seasonal fruit sangria. Bonus points if you serve it in gorgeous glassware with edible garnishes, of course!
  • Create an elegant pastry station: Bridal luncheon food is typically light, but that doesn’t mean that it shouldn’t be delicious and beautiful, too. Go for a pastry table featuring mini quiches, flaky croissants, and sweet macarons — and then pair it with a tea bar complete with scones, varieties of tea, and honey, lemon, and cream.
  • Include delicious favors: Send guests home with a yummy keepsake — think tiny jars of homemade jam, petite potted succulents, or personalized cookies.

Vestals Catering event highlight: Haylie’s bridal luncheon

We are so lucky as a Texas catering company to cater some incredible, special wedding planning events. To us, there’s nothing better than creating a meaningful experience — and one of our favorites as of late was our client Haylie’s bridal luncheon.

If you’re looking for inspiration for your engagement event catering, this is for you. Haylie’s bridal luncheon — which she called her Pink Party — was an absolutely beautiful day that looked as special as it was.

To further elevate, we added a few Vestals-esque details to maximize the impact of the event, like:

  • Custom cigarette trays as serving platters
  • Custom aprons
  • Custom napkins
  • A custom menu (including a Neiman’s-inspired popover with strawberry whipped butter)

Rehearsal Dinners

Rehearsal dinners are the perfect way to kick off your wedding weekend, spend meaningful time with your loved ones, and celebrate. Plus, this pre-wedding tradition is the best opportunity to reflect, toast, and savor the moment with your biggest supporter.

Rehearsal dinner catering inspo:

  • Feature a family-style feast: Get your guests talking with shareable dishes served at the table — think hearty pastas, gourmet sliders, or elevated Southern comfort food.
  • Add a creative drink station: Consider a DIY cocktail station featuring your signature drinks, or opt for a wine and cheese pairing bar. (Helloooo, fun!)
  • Incorporate storytelling elements: Include a dessert table or custom cocktail names that highlight fun moments in your relationship for an extra sentimental touch.

Welcome Parties

Welcome parties are a wonderful way to greet guests and set the tone for an incredible weekend of celebration! Often held the night or two before the wedding (or as a casual alternative to the rehearsal dinner), these events are perfect for mingling, relaxing, and hanging out with your loved ones.

Wedding party catering inspo:

  • Host a Texas-inspired BBQ: Lean into the charm of a Texas wedding with barbecue classics like brisket sliders, mac & cheese, and cornbread (served with an upscale twist, of course).
  • Offer a tasting experience: Start the party with a margarita bar, local craft beer tastings, or stations featuring regional flavors like Tex-Mex, Cajun bites, or fresh seafood.
  • Highlight the season: Incorporate seasonal flavors in your food and drink menus — think watermelon salad in the summer or mulled cider in the fall.

Post-Wedding Brunches

Post-wedding brunches are such a good way to wind down the wedding weekend and say goodbye to your guests in style. These morning-after gatherings are all about relaxation, gratitude, and celebrating the joy of your big day in a more intimate setting.

Post-wedding brunch catering inspo:

  • Add a sweet farewell: Send guests off with takeaway treats like mini cinnamon rolls, custom coffee blends, or monogrammed cookies as a keepsake of your special weekend.
  • Create a build-your-own bar: Go for a customizable mimosa or Bloody Mary bar, complete with fresh fruit, edible flowers, or savory garnishes like pickled veggies and bacon strips.
  • Feature a Southern-inspired breakfast: Serve classic dishes with a gourmet twist, like shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles, or a biscuit bar with homemade jams and gravies. (You can also go light, of course — think: a yogurt parfait station, fresh fruit platters, and smoked salmon with bagels and allllll the toppings.)
